Canoe Family Home
The Canoe Family is a youth mentoring and prevention program
that is conducted through the Snoqualmie Tribe. We are a drug,
alcohol, violence, and gang free group that encourages an invites
both youth and adults (Native and Non-Native) to learn and
experience Native Culture. The Canoe Family strives to bring a
variety of activities and events year round for families to connect
with Native Culture and the Community.

Code of Conduct
Canoe Family & Canoe Journey Participants Code of Conduct
· Support & participate in all
Canoe Family programs and activities.
· Assist law enforcement, staff & volunteers in the operation of a
safe event.
· Report all unsafe or illegal conditions to event staff
immediately.
· Observe posted quiet hours (10pm to 6am) in & around all
areas.
· Keep all areas clean & free from hazardous conditions.
· Treat others equally & fairly.
· Be respectful of individuals and property.
· Be respectful of the
Snoqualmie Tribe Traditions & Culture.
Prohibited items & activities:
· Alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, or fireworks will not be allowed
at Canoe Family Events. Possession, use or distribution will be
grounds for immediate expulsion from the event.
· Theft, vandalism, illegal drugs, weapons, or violence will be
prosecuted to the fullest
extent of the law.
· Bullying, harassment, or assault of any kind will not be
tolerated.
· Crimes or other disruptive behaviors will not be tolerated.
· Electronics such as: MP3 players, cell phones, IPOD’s,
Nintendo DS, video games, CD
players are not permitted unless prior permission is approved.
· Unlawful use of weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or drug
Paraphernalia;
· Any gang paraphernalia;
· Clothing which promotes illegal or violent conduct;
· Clothing with language or images that are vulgar, discriminatory,
or obscene;
· Clothing which contains gang symbols or threats;
· Sagging, bagging, flagging or any type
of gang identification;
· Clothing should be neat and conform to the standards of safety
and
decency;
· Clothing that exposes cleavage, private parts, or undergarments
or that is otherwise sexually or otherwise provocative is
prohibited.
· Sexual activities are prohibited.
· Smoking is prohibited at or in the vicinity of all Canoe Family
Functions.
Gang-Identified Activity and Clothing
Defined:
All participants in a Canoe Family Event are expected to dress
appropriately. Any clothing of gang-related nature, which encourages
gang-activity, is disruptive, and/or interferes with the Cultural
significance of the event, is prohibited.
Participants violating this code of conduct may be asked to leave
and may result in suspension from attending Canoe Family events.
Interpretation of this standard will be at the discretion of the
Canoe Family Coordinator, event organizers, event security &
appropriate law enforcement.
