The Indian Center offers $500.00 scholarships per quarter for Indian Students in King County that are going to college or pursuing vocational training in King County. (Vocational students are only eligible for $300.00) In order to be eligible students need to go to the Seattle Indian Center and demonstrate enrollment in a federally recognized Tribe or Alaska Native Village/Corporation and take an intake test and go through an interview. It is first come and first serve on the funds, Mr. Price came to the office to specifically tell us about this summer because they have an excess of funds for this quarter due to a small amount of applicants for this summer. Updates have been made to Indian Affairs website for the scholarship program for 2008-2009.  Students can access information at www.indian-affairs.org. Application packages will be accepted between April 21-July 1, 2008.
 
If you have questions you can contact Lisa  at 240-314-7155 (eastern time) or lw.aaia@verizon.net.  There are 7 programs for grads and undergrads.  The other program is an emergency aid, which is for emergencies that arise during the regular school year.
